    Hope Family Wines è stata fondata nel 1978 e si trova nella città di Paso Robles, che fa parte della contea di San Luis Obispo in California. La contea stessa ospita numerose aziende vinicole e vigneti, con oltre 25 varietà di uve che crescono nella sola Paso Robles Wine County. La Hope Family Wines è rimasta un'azienda a conduzione familiare fin dalla sua nascita da parte della coppia di marito e moglie Chuck e Marlyn Hope. Acquistarono il terreno alla fine degli anni '70 e iniziarono a piantare uva e mele, inconsapevoli del valore del terreno che avevano acquisito. Nel corso degli anni, si sono gradualmente allontanati dai meleti per dedicarsi a tempo pieno alla produzione di vini di qualità per i quali la Central Coast è rinomata.

    I vini della famiglia Hope hanno cinque etichette sotto il loro controllo: Candor, Troublemaker, Liberty School, Austin Hope e Treana. Austin Hope, figlio dei proprietari, è l'enologo capo e il presidente di Hope Family Wines. Ha contribuito a far crescere l'azienda da una produzione di 20.000 casse all'anno a oltre 300.000 casse all'anno. Per migliorare la bevibilità e la complessità, nel 2008 hanno iniziato a introdurre miscele multi-vintage con Candor Wines. Visto il successo di questa iniziativa, hanno continuato con i blend multi-vintage con il lancio di Troublemaker nel 2010.
