La Cascina del Colle è un'azienda vinicola a conduzione familiare che negli ultimi 25 anni si è costantemente affermata nel panorama abruzzese. È di proprietà e gestita dai D'Onofrio, che da una cascina in collina creano una deliziosa gamma di vini e oli d'oliva autoctoni italiani.
L'azienda si trova nel comune di Villamagna, nella zona pedemontana dell'Appennino, non lontano dalla costa orientale italiana. Vanta un ambiente magnifico per la coltivazione delle uve Montepulciano. I vigneti si trovano a un'altezza media di 250 metri sul livello del mare, con esposizione solare a sud/sud-est. La combinazione di inverni austeri ed estati torride rende le uve meravigliosamente complesse e saporite.
Il Negus è un eccezionale esempio di Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, che esplode con marmellata di more, ciliegia matura, fave di cacao e liquirizia nera. È corposo e presenta una struttura tannica solida e una fresca acidità. Il nome fa riferimento a un re africano, il che riflette perfettamente la personalità di questo vino. In bocca è caldo, avvolge la lingua con bacche di bosco e spezie di vaniglia e cannella. Servitelo a temperatura ambiente in un bicchiere ampio e abbinatelo a un piatto italiano a base di carne.
