Antica Casa Vinicola Scarpa è considerata una delle migliori aziende piemontesi grazie alla combinazione di tecniche di vinificazione antiche e di un terroir eccellente. L'azienda è stata fondata nel 1854 e da allora produce vini di qualità sulle colline del Monferrato. La storia moderna di Scarpa è iniziata negli anni '60 quando Mario Pesce ha rilevato la tenuta, dando priorità ad un approccio tradizionale alla vinificazione con periodi di maturazione molto lunghi e fermentazione in tini di legno.
Rouchet è la parola di Scarpa per l'uva piemontese Ruché poiché la tenuta si trova al di fuori dei confini definiti per la varietà e non può usare il suo nome ufficiale sulle loro etichette. Le uve per questo imbottigliamento provengono dai 50 ettari di Poderi Bricchi di Scarpa a Castel Rocchero. Quasi 23 ettari della proprietà sono boschivi, creando una ricca biodiversità che aiuta a mantenere sani i vigneti.
In cantina le uve vengono fermentate in vasche di acciaio inox e il vino giovane viene maturato in vasca per un anno seguito da un altro anno di affinamento in bottiglia prima della commercializzazione. Il risultato è un rosso elegante e raffinato con un'ampia freschezza dalla varietà e un carattere brillante di frutta rossa. Un vino eccellente da servire con formaggi o salumi, o come accompagnamento a pasta fresca servita con una salsa a base di pomodoro.
